Any successful search is dependent on the resources deployed. Encompassing: understanding their role; safety; communication, navigation; use of proper search techniques; first aid treatment of the team member or subject; rescue; after action reporting and assessment as well as developing a preventative SAR program.

Team Leader (2.5 days)

A critical component of a search is the search team deployed and a critical component for them is proper leadership. This course re-iterates search skills and adds some leadership components.

Search Manager (5 days)

a) Initial Response (first 12 – 24 hours) (2.5 days)

  • This training allows the first responders to properly document and develop a plan to place resources in the proper location based on proper investigation, confinement and use of proper search techniques.

b) Subsequent Operational Periods (2.5 days)

  • If the subject(s) is not found in the first 12 – 24 hours now what? This class takes the participant from the initial response phase to managing the increased resources responding and maintaining proper documentation of the efforts.
