This course is 24 hours, delivered over 2 days and 1 evening, supplemented with online learning. Please come prepared for an intensive weekend of first aid training as there is a lot of material to cover. The program is highly practical and is presented using a blend of theoretical concepts and practical activities, scenarios and simulations. There will be reading and quizzes to complete outside of the in-person sessions.
Successful course participants will receive Remote First Aid certification and Basic First Aid with Level C CPR certification. Both are valid for 3 years.

This course focuses on self-rescue skills so that you can look after yourself when out on the water and is great for those just entering the whitewater arena or for those who have already dipped a paddle and found it to their liking! This one day course offers a combination of theoretical and practical skill development.

This course will re-certify your 40-hour qualification. The course is presented by blending classroom theory and practice, with two days of outdoor practical scenarios. For successful certification, participants must complete the online learning components: Intermediate First Aid Exam and the WAFA Final Exam, complete all required skills and attend all course sessions.
Successful course participants will receive Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification and Intermediate First Aid and Level C CPR re-certification (for the workplace). The Intermediate First Aid certification is recognized by Alberta Occupational Health & Safety.

Note: This is a practical, non-certified course which usually takes place in the Bragg Creek area.

An ideal course for the back country enthusiast and weekend warriors! This course is not appropriate or adequate for trip leaders, instructors or those undertaking extended travel in remote areas. Classroom based sessions are 2.5 days. For successful certification, participants are required to complete the Basic First Aid Online Exam, the Remote First Aid Final Exam, the required skills components and attend all course sessions.

This course is designed for wilderness professionals- guides and leaders, those who are going on extended and remote expeditions, or those wishing to work as professional ski patrollers in Alberta. This intense program involves a high level of commitment from the learner. It is delivered over 11 days, with 9 teaching days and 2 days for self study. For successful certification, participants are required to complete the Intermediate First Aid Online Exam, the WFR Chapter Review Exam, the WFR Final Exam, the required skills components and attend all course sessions.
This course will be hosted through Yamnuska Mountain Adventures.
Sessions run 8:30 – 4:30 daily.
No classes on September 14 & 15.
