Wilderness First Responder

Yamnuska

This course is designed for wilderness professionals- guides and leaders, those who are going on extended and remote expeditions, or those wishing to work as professional ski patrollers in Alberta. This intense program involves a high level of commitment from the learner. It is delivered over 10 days, with 9 teaching days and 1 day for self study.  For successful certification, participants are required to complete the Intermediate First Aid Online Exam, the WFR Chapter Review Exam,  the WFR Final Exam, the required skills components and attend all course sessions.

This course will be hosted through Yamnuska Mountain Adventures.

Remote First Aid – Thursday Evening, Saturday and Sunday
Sep 14 – Sep 17 all-day

Outdoor Centre LogoAn ideal course for the back country enthusiast and weekend warriors! This course is not appropriate or adequate for trip leaders, instructors or those undertaking extended travel in remote areas. A Knowledge Review is completed online, as is the Final Exam. Classroom based sessions are 2.5 days.  Participants are required to complete the Knowledge Review, Final Exam and Skills Components of the course in addition to attending all course sessions for successful certification.

Saturday – 9:00am – 5pm
Sunday – 9:00am – 5pm Field Day
