This course is designed for wilderness professionals- guides and leaders, those who are going on extended and remote expeditions, or those wishing to work as professional ski patrollers in Alberta. This intense program involves a high level of commitment from the learner. It is delivered over 10 days, with 9 teaching days and 1 day for self study. For successful certification, participants are required to complete the Intermediate First Aid Online Exam, the WFR Chapter Review Exam, the WFR Final Exam, the required skills components and attend all course sessions.
This course will be hosted through Yamnuska Mountain Adventures.
An ideal course for the back country enthusiast and weekend warriors! This course is not appropriate or adequate for trip leaders, instructors or those undertaking extended travel in remote areas. Classroom based sessions are 2.5 days. For successful certification, participants are required to complete the Basic First Aid Online Exam, the Remote First Aid Final Exam, the required skills components and attend all course sessions.
Thursday 24 October – 6pm – 9:30pm
Saturday and Sunday 26 to 27 October – 9:00am – 5pm
This course re-certifies those holding one of the following certifications:

- RMAM Advanced Adventure Medic certification. Certificates that expire no later than February 28, 2023 are eligible for re-certification.
- Advanced First Aid (recognized by Alberta OHS)
- OFA 3
- Wilderness First Responder with Advanced First Aid

The course will will focus on skills and scenario based activities. For successful certification, participants must complete the online learning components, complete all required skills and attend all course sessions.
Course sessions are daily from 8:30am – 4:30pm
