80-hour Wilderness First Responder and Advanced First Aid Blended re-certification

The 80 hr Wilderness First Responder Re-Certification course is for those who hold a current 80-hour certification.  This comprehensive, professional level program is the “industry standard” for professional responders such as guides, leaders and specialized search and rescue teams looking to re-certify their current certification. 

This is the right course for you if:

  • You need a course that complies with ACMG requirements.
  • You need a workplace first aid certificate for a ‘High Hazard workplace’ (see OHS definitions) with 100 or more employees on site, that is over 20 minutes away from a health care facility under normal travel conditions using available means of transportation.
  • You need a workplace first aid certificate for a ‘High Hazard’ workplace (see OHS definitions) with 50 or more employees on site, that is over 40 minutes away from a health care facility under normal travel conditions using available means of transportation.
  • You need OFA 3 equivalency for working in BC e.g. BC Ski Hill.
  • You are working under medical protocols that require Advanced First Aid / OFA 3.

Program Duration:

The 2 re-certification programs include 6 days of hands-on learning and practical skill-building activities, supplemented with self-paced online learning.

Includes:

Digital course manual and comprehensive online learning package. 

Pre-requisite:

Current 80-hour and Advanced First Aid certification.

Wilderness First Aid Certification:

  • Valid for 3 years.

Advanced First Aid with BLS level CPR & AED certification:

  • Approved by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Valid for 3 years.
  • Recognized in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Equivalence can be sought in BC at OFA 3 level.
