40-hour Wilderness First Aid and Intermediate First Aid Blended
Re-Certification
This course is appropriate for those who work in a non-standard environment and for those who take on a leadership role in the backcountry. It is the “industry standard” for those who lead youth and adult groups in the outdoors and follows Wilderness Medical Society guidelines. . This course is not intended for those who professionally guide in alpine terrain, or individuals planning extended trips into remote wilderness without access to emergency assistance.

Pre-requisite: Current 40-hour certification.

This program includes 2.5 days of in person skills and scenario-based training, supplemented with self-paced online learning.

Wilderness First Aid Certification:
- Valid for 3 years
Intermediate First Aid with Level C CPR & AED certification:
- Approved by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety
- Valid for 3 years
- Recognized in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Equivalence can be sought in BC at OFA1 level
